"Red Squares Welcome" is a cross-stitch chart with instructions translated in English.

Design stitch count: 105 wide x 105 high

Design area:

• 17,5 x 17,5 cm (7 x 7 in) on a 32 count linen
• 17 x 17 (6,5 x 6,5 in) on a 16 count Aida
• 19 x 19 cm (7,5 x 7,5 in) on a 28 count linen or a 14 count Aida

Special stitches: This is a pure cross-stitch design with very few back-stitches.

Threads and colours

This pattern is worked as a monochrome with a single shading thread. You can choose your own colour. The designer has recommanded to use a cotton  thread from ATALIe called "Lie de Vin" ( no counterpart in DMC reference on the chart) or a silk thread called "Shiraz" if worked as a miniature.

ATALIe threads are shaded hand-dyed cotton (or silk) threads by French designer ATALIe; their subtle shading gives a special outcome to your stitching. The model on the picture has been stitched on a 32 count linen fabric (colour off-white) as a miniature  using one strand of silk over one thread of fabric. You can also stitched it on a 36 count fabric using one strand of cotton over two threads of fabric.

Recommended fabric: 36 or 32 count linen colour "white" or "off-white", 40x40 cm (16 x 16 in), 18 or 16 count Aida
